A SESSION OPEN TO EVERYONE

The perfect introduction to surfing. If you have never surfed before or have been out of the water for a long time, this is for you. Our expert coaches will teach you all the basic skills and techniques and ease you into the sport of Kings. Smiles guaranteed.

WHAT IS A BEGINNER LESSON?

In our lessons, you’ll learn about water safety, surf equipment, body positioning and how to surf. Once you’re in the water, we’ll be with you all the way as you catch your first waves.

Our beginner lessons cover everything from building confidence in white water and learning to control your board to introduce you to the surfing basics and develop a good technique.

We want as many people as possible to experience the stoke of surfing.

  • Catch a white water wave alone or with our help
  • Start practising the paddle technique and paddle through the white water
  • Stand up and surf the white water straight, left or right

Ideal for :

  • Beginners who want to start surfing
  • Beginners with little experience who wish to try Alaïa Bay for the first time
  • Surfers who have little experience and wish to improve their technique
  • The waves: Small white water wave of a height of 0.5m
  • Session length: A beginner session lasts one hour and a half long
  • Coaching: Guided by our expert coaches throughout the session to help you learn the basics.

WHAT WILL MY LESSON LOOK LIKE?

Arrive at Alaïa Bay 1h30 before the session. Check in at the main reception with a member of the Alaïa Bay team.

The next stop is the Surf School, where you will choose your wetsuit and board with your coach’s help.

Then there is the safety briefing for the whole group. We will show a film in the briefing room.

Then it’s time to warm up with your coach. They will explain some basic theories to the whole group before some dry-land practice.

Finally, the group will enter the water with the coach for 55 minutes. It’s time to catch your first waves!

At the end of the session, your coach will debrief you before you return your equipment. As a souvenir of your experience, you can treat yourself to a video or photos of your achievements.

FACILITIES

For Beginner lessons, you will have access to our facilities for two hours, including 55 minutes in the water. When you arrive at reception, you will receive a bracelet that provides access to the changing rooms and the pool. Our changing rooms are equipped with lockers to store your belongings and showers where you can freshen up after your session.

THE WAVES

Beginner lessons waves are white-water waves, which are frothy and broken. They are suitable for surfers who have never surfed before. You can find the water depth and wave height you are comfortable with and stay there.

EQUIPMENT

For a Beginner lesson, Alaïa Bay will provide all equipment. Wetsuit, boards and protection – a coach will help you select your board and everything you need to learn the basics of surfing. Grab your swimming gear and get stuck in!

The pool is accessible seven days a week. You can surf during the day or at night, depending on the session times.
